Program Requirement
- There are no prerequisites for enrollment in this program.
- Clearly understand and competently demonstrate all required practical skills
- Attend all scheduled sessions and actively participate in course activities
- Obtain a minimum passing score of 75% on the written, closed-book knowledge assessment
- Follow and uphold the Fundamental Principles at all times
Course Overview – CPR/AED Certification
The CPR/AED Certification program is designed to prepare participants to confidently respond to cardiac emergencies and choking situations. Depending on the certification level selected, training covers lifesaving techniques for adults, children, and infants.
Participants gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in performing effective CPR and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). All courses comply with current provincial and territorial workplace safety regulations, meet insurance board requirements, and follow the latest evidence-based CPR and AED guidelines.

COURSE DURATION
CPR Level A – Blended Learning
- In-Person Training: 4 hours
OR - Hybrid Format: 2 hours classroom instruction + 3 hours online learning
CPR Level C – Blended Learning
- In-Person Training: 5 hours
OR - Hybrid Format: 3 hours classroom instruction + 3 hours online learning
CERTIFICATION
Successful participants receive a CPR Level A or Level C certification, valid for three (3) years.
Certificates are issued upon course completion.
Recertification Policy
- Recertification is allowed once only
- Individuals who have already completed a recertification must enroll in the full Standard First Aid Level C course

- CPR Level C Blended Recertification:
- Classroom Only: 3.5 hours
- Hybrid Format: 2.5 hours in-class + 2 hours online learning

- Introduction to the Red Cross
- Emergency response fundamentals
- Check, Call, Care approach
- Recovery positioning
- Adult choking response
- Assisting individuals with medications
- Recognition and response to angina and heart attack
- Stroke awareness and response
- Adult CPR and AED use
- Management of severe, life-threatening bleeding
CPR Level C
- Includes all Level A topics, plus:
- Child and infant choking response
- Child and infant CPR and AED techniques
Participant Materials
- Participants will receive:
- CPR training manual (print and/or digital format)
- Comprehensive Guide to First Aid & CPR (digital edition)
- Access to online CPR learning modules (for blended courses only)
- CPR certificate upon successful completion
